Q1.Should I roast them before eating?

Yes, we highly recommend it! In their raw, unroasted state straight out of the pack, jumbo makhanas can have a slightly dense or chewy texture. Dry roasting them in a heavy-bottomed pan for 4 to 5 minutes over a low-medium flame completely transforms them into a crisp, melt-in-your-mouth snack.

Q2.What is the best way to spice or flavor Jumbo Makhana?

Because they are 100% plain, they act as a perfect blank canvas. Heat a small amount of ghee, coconut oil, or olive oil in a pan, toss in your roasted jumbo makhanas, and immediately add your favorite seasonings (like pink salt, black pepper, turmeric, peri-peri, or chaat masala) so the spices coat the large puffs perfectly.

Q3.Are Jumbo Makhanas suitable for weight loss and fasting?

Absolutely. They are naturally gluten-free, grain-free, and vegan, making them a staple clean food during traditional fasting (vrat) windows. Their low glycemic index ensures your blood sugar levels stay stable, preventing sudden energy crashes.

Q4.How do I store them to keep them from going soft?

Makhana is highly sensitive to atmospheric moisture and can quickly lose its crispiness if exposed to humidity. Always store your Jumbo Makhana in a sealed, airtight container in a cool, dry place. If they ever catch moisture and lose their bite, a quick 2-minute dry toss in a warm pan will instantly bring their signature crunch right back!
